OUR STORY

Group of dancers and friends

Hey Beauties! Amy & Nikisha here, founders of Beauty & the Bevel.

We first met five years ago in a dance class and quickly bonded over our mutual heels obsession. Little did we know then that our shared love would eventually become a whole company. After a one-off Valentine’s workshop in 2023, it became clear to us there was a real need for a company that welcomes dancers of all levels, offering a supportive and uplifting environment where they can grow.

And so, fast forward to November 2023, when we officially launched Beauty & the Bevel!
What started as a passion project has blossomed into a thriving community where every dancer is celebrated.

At Beauty & The Bevel, we aim to help every woman who dances with us feel beautiful, confident, and strong. We believe in helping women step into their power and fully embrace their individuality. We’re passionate about providing a fun, inclusive space where women can learn the art of heels dance, whilst prioritising solid technique and safe training. We believe in creating a place where women can connect with each other and express themselves freely. Our community is the heart of everything we do, and we can’t wait to welcome you into it.

BOOK CLASSES

Whether you're new to dance or looking to refine your skills, we have a class that’s the perfect fit for you.

Entry Level/Beginner
Heels

Our Entry Level/Beginner Heels class is perfect for those just starting their journey in heels, or for those wanting to strip it back to basics. This class focuses on the foundations of the style, including posture, balance, and core technique. Each movement is fully broken down, and choreography is spread over two weeks. This is a supportive and welcoming space to grow your skills and confidence. No prior experience necessary — just bring your energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to try something new!

MONDAYS 6:30PM-7:45PM

Commercial & Contemporary with Taylor

Looking to switch up your routine and grow as a versatile dancer? Commercial/Contemporary with Taylor is the perfect way to challenge yourself while exploring two incredible styles. Alternating every two weeks between commercial and contemporary, this open level class is ideal for anyone wanting to expand their repertoire, grow stronger, and master new techniques in a welcoming and encouraging space.

WEDNESDAYS 8:45PM - 10PM

Improver/Intermediate
Heels

Our Improver/Intermediate Heels class is designed for dancers with some prior experience, or those who want a bit more of a push. This class moves at a slightly faster pace with a focus on choreography and performance. Intermediate level routines are taught over one or two weeks, but we ensure that everyone is supported by offering modifications for more advanced moves and breaking down each step thoroughly. If you want to level up your dancing, or perhaps learn a trick or two, this is the class for you.

THURSDAYS 8PM - 9:30PM

FAQS
  • Do I need previous dance experience?
Not at all! Our Entry Level/Beginner Heels class is perfect for those with no dance experience - we’ll guide you through every step.
  • Is there an age limit?
Our classes are for people aged 17+
  • Do you film in your classes?
Yes! We allow time at the end of every class for people to film the choreography on their phones, and also offer high quality filming on our camera every couple of weeks.
  • Do we have to film?
No - filming is completely optional! There will be a chance to film right at the end of class for anyone who wants to, but the focus is on learning and having fun.
  • Do I have to wear heels to class?
You don’t have to wear heels, but we would recommend that you give it a try. We will teach you the techniques to safely dance in a heel, and facing the wobbles is part of the process! But if you’re nervous, we are happy for you to attend class in socks or trainers. Please note, Wednesdays with Taylor are not heels classes.
  • How do I sign up for class?
You can sign up for classes directly on our website. Just head to the “Book Class” section, choose your class, and follow the prompts to secure your spot.
  • What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Single class passes are non-refundable, but with at least 24 hours’ notice, you can request to rollover a single class purchase to the following week's class (once per booking). We understand that life can be unpredictable, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs to the best of our ability. For more details, see our cancellation policy on the booking page.
  • What should I wear to class?
Wear whatever makes you feel confident and comfortable! We recommend leggings or joggers - think of what you might wear to the gym as a guide. Equally, we encourage all forms of self expression, so if you have a cute or sexy outfit you would like to wear to class, we would love to see it!
  • What type of heels should I bring?
As scary as they may seem, it can actually be easier to dance in stilettos as they are lighter, and encourage proper weight placement, but you are welcome to wear thicker heeled shoes to help build your confidence. As a beginner, the most important thing when choosing a heel is ankle support. We recommend boot heels that wrap around your ankles (ideally with adjustable straps or laces to fasten them to your ankle). Open-toe shoes, with no platform, are also preferred for stability. We recommend that your heel is anywhere up to 10cm high. For more advice on what type of heel to choose, please see our heels guide, or drop us a message.
  • Can I take the class if I’ve never danced in heels before?
Absolutely! Our classes are designed to help you build confidence and technique, even if you’ve never danced in heels before.
